This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
If you're using Full Site Editing (FSE), Custom Post Types, and WPML, and you notice that WPML applies the default template instead of the custom post type template for translations, this might be your issue. In the original language (English), the correct template appears, but for all other languages, the default Page/Post template is used.
Solution:
We recommend checking the WPML > Translation Dashboard > Site Templates to ensure all templates are translated. Then, select the "wp_template" in WPML > Settings > Post Types Translation > Translatable - use translation if available or fallback to default language. This should align the template usage across different languages.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to use FSE, Custom Post Types, and WPML. When WPML generates the Custom Posts, it applies the default template instead of the template assigned to the Custom Post. The issue can be seen at hidden link.

Symptoms:
For the original language (English), I get the correct template. For all other languages, I get the default Page/Post template.

Questions:
Why does WPML apply the default template to translations instead of the custom post type template?
How can I ensure that the same template is used for all translations?

Thanks for contacting us.

I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

Thanks for your reply. I've checked your translated page here hidden link and it looks like the "template" is not selected.

So, I've checked WPML > Translation Dashboard > Site Templates, I noticed that all templates are translated yet. So, I've selected the "wp_template" in WPML > Settings > Post Types Translation > Translatable - use translation if available or fallback to default language.

It works fine now and could you please check? hidden link
