This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I have a 2-language site. All works o.k., but today i have tried to save second language post. And it is saving too long and result to 504 error page.

Solution: I just applied the troubleshooting steps highlighted in the attached image that appear in WPML -> Support -> Troubleshooting link.

Posts in Russian and all the other posts in Ukrainian I try work well.
I tried to disable all other plugins except wpml with the same result. But if disable *only* wpml plugins all works like a charm.

You can reproduce the issue by editing the topmost post in Ukrainian.
All server logs are in /var/log/nginx/dau_error.log with warn level of logging. access.log is in the same place.
I provide su credentials for you so you could change any info in the site. The only request is write to me if you change any of the system files.
