[Resolved] OTGS Installer dont want activated / Cannot activate Key on AdminPanel
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client is unable to activate a new WPML license using the OTGS Installer after importing the plugin. The issue arises because the 'PublishPress Capabilities' plugin interferes with the WPML renewal notification.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am working on a site under development. My site's development version had a license that expired. I bought a new license and am trying to activate it using the OTGS Installer.
Symptoms:
The plugin was imported but does not want to activate.
Questions:
Why does the OTGS Installer not activate the plugin after importing?
How can I activate my new license using the OTGS Installer or without OTGS Installer?
Welcome to the WPML support forum. I will do my best to help you resolve the issue.
Please try the following steps to register the site with a new key after a full site backup {mandatory}, and make sure you are getting the expected result or not.
- Go to your account page (https://wpml.org/account/sites/)
- Delete the key for the site
- Go to Plugins>>Add New>>Commercial tab
- Click on "Unregister WPML from this site"
- Refresh the page
- Click on "Get a key for this site"
- Copy the newly generated code
- Visit back to Plugins>>Add New>>Commercial tab
- Register the site with the new key
Thank you for the updates. This may be a compatibility conflict and not normal.
So please fill in the private details fields (including FTP credentials) after a full site backup. I would like to access the admin area of your site for further checking. Refer to the following links for more details about our private information sharing policies.
Thank you for the updates. This requires further testing. So, please allow me to make a copy of your site using the Duplicator plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/) for debugging the issue on my local server. It will help us to troubleshoot the issue without affecting your live site.
Thank you for the permission, and I had a quick test on our local copy. It looks like the WPML renewal notification is cleared by the *PublishPress Capabilities* plugin. The links of the WPML renewal notification are working as expected when this plugin is deactivated.
