Hintergrund des Themas:
We are currently facing a recurring issue with our multilingual website that supports two main languages: German (primary) and English. The pages are linked accordingly. However, the German page translation has repeatedly disappeared without any changes being made. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Die Symptome:
The German version of the page disappears while the English version remains visible. We have to restore the German version from a backup each time this happens.

Fragen:
Could you please assist us in identifying why the German translation keeps disappearing?

Thanks for reaching out.

This behavior isn't expected and may be due to a misconfiguration on your end. Could you please record a short screen video of the issue using this free tool: hidden link? That will help me better understand what’s going on.

Thanks for your reply!

Here is a video of the website:

As you can see, on the English version, the content has been replaced by German, and this issue only occurs on the Home page.

We’ve already deleted the Home page entirely and set German as the main language. However, the issue reappeared. This time, the English version is completely gone and has been replaced by the German version.

Thank you for your Support!

Thanks for your reply.

Kindly update the plugin to 4.7.5 as this should fix the issue you had there as mentioned in our update changelog here https://wpml.org/download/wpml-multilingual-cms/?section=changelog

Fixed an edge case where the original post designed using a page builder would override a translation edited natively.

If the issue continues, I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
