This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

I'm experiencing an issue with my Wordpress theme, Uncode. When I translate pages, the Page Options do not automatically update to the translated pages. This means I have to manually search for and change these options directly on the page each time.

Solution:

To resolve this, you can set the custom fields (which the Page Options seem to be) to be copied when a new page is created. Follow these steps:

Visit this page: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-custom-fields/. Here you can find the procedure to search for the field and set it as COPY.

After setting it to COPY, make a minor change in the original page to force WPML to apply the setting.

Is there an option to automatically update the Page Options to the translated pages?

How can I do this, because apparently it doesn't happen automatically.

Thank you for your help!

Hello,

can you please share more options on what page options you mean?

Sharing an example image or video would be helpful. Is this page option set by theme or by some other plugin?

Please let us know.

Thanks,
Drazen

Hello,

Yes, here is a capture of the page with the problem after translation (see attached file).

The second screen capture shows the Page Option that did not 'update' to the page.

I had to search and then change it manually, directly on the page.

Thank you for your help.

Catherine

Hi there,

Thank you for the additional information.

I think the options that you annotated in the screenshot are custom fields and you can force such custom fields to be copied when a new page is created.

Please follow the steps below to search for the field and set it as COPY:

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-custom-fields/

After that you will need to do a small change int he original page to force WPML to apply the setting:

- Go to your Dashboard > Pages.
- Open the edit screen of the original page. You should see a pencil/circle/gear icon in the sidebar options under the "Languages" section.
- Make a small change, for example, add an extra blank space at the end of a sentence/paragraph.
- Save it.
- You should now see that a circular arrow appears beside the 2nd languages links, this means that an update is required.
- Edit the translation again and save it up to 100% translated.

Thanks.
