This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: When trying to update the plugins, this error is shown: PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature Solution:

  • go to Dashboard → Updates;
  • press the Check Again button;
  • press the Update button at the bottom of the page;
  • go to Plugins → Add New → Commercial;
  • press the Check for updates button;
  • go to https://wpml.org/account/sites/ look for your current key and erase it;
  • create a new one for your site;
  • go to Plugins → Add New → Commercial;
  • click on the Unregister WPML from this site button;
  • register WPML adding your new key;
  • try also disabling the Keep wpml.org up-to-date about which theme and plugins I use option.

If that does not fix the issue you can manually update the plugins. ❌ Before proceeding please make a full website backup! ❌

  • download the latest version of WPML from https://wpml.org/account/downloads/;
  • disable WPML Multilingual CMS
  • delete WPML Multilingual CMS (the settings and the translations are saved in the database so they will not be deleted);
  • upload the freshly downloaded WPML plugin from Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin → Activate WPML;

I am trying to: Update 4.1.4 to 4.2.0
I have error in all websites:
Can't Install. (PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature)
In All WPML Products that I have.

Hey Michael,

Sorry about this. Some issue occurred during updates and our development team will further review it. For now, you can easily update the plugin manually by following these steps:

  • go to Dashboard → Plugins;
  • deactivate the plugins you want to update;
  • delete them;
  • go here: https://wpml.org/account/downloads/;
  • download the plugins you just deleted;
  • go back to Dashboard → Plugins → Add new;
  • install the plugins that you downloaded.

Just give this a try and tell me how it works.

Thank you for your support.
I have 2 problems now:
1) The updates still can't be done after following your instructions.
2) In website fun4all.gr I can't find hwo to translate YITH Wishlist Header Text and some texts in Boxshop Theme Options. I send you attached screenshots to have a view and help me to solve.

Please try these steps too:

  • go to Dashboard → Updates;

Hi Radu, I'm following the instructions to update. After steps 1, 2 and 3 I'm getting this message on top of the Add Plugin page:
Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$plugin in /home/urangatrading/public_html/wp/wp-includes/class-wp-list-util.php on line 150
I will keep posting errors if they occur, no need to a response so far.

After first option to update:
"No se ha podido descomprimir el paquete. (PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature)"
All 3 updates failed.

Have you tried to follow the steps from the second part of my message? All you have to do is look after the If that does not fix the issue you can manually update the plugins part. Please give this a try and tell me how things work.
