[Resolved] Please assign this ticket to Ilyes: Property slider issue in French version
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client reported an issue with the property slider on the French version of their website, where the cover photo appears in the desired size, but subsequent photos are smaller. This problem does not occur in the English version. Additionally, there was a problem with a translation not being published, potentially due to a server connection issue or a previously created page not being fully deleted. Solution: We suggested monitoring the situation with the property images to see if the issue recurs with future listings, as it was initially observed with only one property. For the translation issue, we recommended checking the server connection and ensuring that any previously created pages were fully deleted. If these steps do not resolve the issues, we advised the client to try using the
Regenerate Thumbnails plugin
to rebuild all image sizes from the original files.
Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. If the problem persists, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hi,
Since the recent updates, I have an issue with the property slider for the french version. The cover photo has the desired size but then, the photos appear smaller. On the english version, I don't have that issue. I did not have this issue before.
Please follow this link to my screen recording: hidden link
I opened an incognito window in Google Chrome, and I noticed that for this specific French property, the slider photos appear smaller compared to other listings, both in English and French.
For your information, I tried removing all the photos from this property, including the featured and social images, deleted them from the WordPress media library, and uploaded them again. This fixed the issue temporarily, but the problem came back afterward.

Hello,
I just tested with a Mac with many colleagues, no issues yet.
I have checked the CSS, looks identical.
Could you click on cmd + 0 to refresh the zoom size in both language?
Do you have a different PC just to test again?
Can you test on hidden link too ?
Since I cannot confirm nor deny the issue, I made a couple of changes in how the slider fields are handled, to force a full copy upon translating, hopefully that helps on your side,

Hello,
Okay, at least we can confirm that this is a device/network specific to your Mac and not a general issue, so your visitors should be seeing the correct sizes (tested with my colleague too from different countries, no issues)
My hands are tied for this one as it seems beyond WPML, with some research, I found out that the issue could be :
- Local/browser cache
- Safari/Chrome cached responsive image version
- extension / content blocker / image optimizer behaviour on that device/network
I would say give it more time, and let me know if there is a change in behaviour,
I created another property today and the image sizes are fine (for now). Hopefully that remains this way.
Also, I am having an issue with one of the translation of one of the 2 properties I created this morning. Please follow the link to my screen recording => hidden link
I also informed Waqas from Houzez about this issue, and here is his response:
Hi Arnaud,
This is a known WPML media synchronization issue, not related to the Houzez theme. When WPML duplicates media for the French version, the attachment metadata (such as image dimensions) can become out of sync. As a result, smaller thumbnail sizes may be served instead of the original full-size images.
Recommended fixes:
Go to WPML → Settings → Media Translation
Ensure "Duplicate media attachments for translations" is enabled, then re-sync the media.
Regenerate thumbnails on the .fr site
Install and run the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin to rebuild all image sizes from the original files.
If the .fr site is on a separate domain or installation
Make sure the original full-size images are properly synced — not just the generated thumbnails.
These steps should permanently resolve the issue without needing to re-add listings each time.
Best regards,
Waqas Riaz

Hello Arnaud,
Sorry for the small delay, I was on holiday the past days,
Thank you for the video you shared,
For the translation, it seems the translation is stuck for some reason, and you are right, it is not showing because the translation in not being published yet, could be a server connection issue or another minor issue like the same page was created before and not fully deleted.
Either way, please share another access, I will then check it for you..
For the images, to be fair, I'm not aware of such issue and I see no report of such, so I'm not sure how accurate their reply is.
At least, from our side, I could confirm that this is not a general issue as we saw in proxy and other devices.
And we can confirm so far it is specific for one single property, which means it is not consistent.
The easiest way to "test" what they are saying, is to try their workaround (which I don't think will help)
Potentially, the "Install and run the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin to rebuild all image sizes from the original files" part is promising, but it is best to simply monitor this and check if this ever happens with another property first.
Thank you for sharing your feedback on Waqas’s troubleshooting of the images. I will leave things as they are for now, as it appears to be affecting only one property, because I am not convinced Waqas solution will resolve the issue and I’m hopeful it won’t occur again with future listings.
Regarding the translation, could you please reply to me in a way that I can securely share my credentials?
