This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
If you're experiencing issues where some posts on your category page display featured images while others do not, it might be due to the images not being copied or translated properly into the secondary language.
Solution:
We recommend following these steps to synchronize the images:
1. Navigate to WPML >> Settings >> Media Translation section.
2. Temporarily disable the “Automatically detect best options for translating image texts” option.
3. Click on the “Setup manually” link.
4. Check the “Duplicate image texts (alt, caption, title) for all feature images to all languages” option for Existing Content.
5. Click the “Start the Process” button.
6. Re-enable the “Automatically detect best options for translating image texts” option.
Please check your category pages again to see if the issue with the featured images has been resolved.

This solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket.

Hello,
I just realized that the issue with display photos is not solved at all.
You can see what this category page looks like:
hidden link
Some posts do have display photo, others don't
I hope I don't have to manually edit each post in order for these photos to appear.
This is the only plugin I am paying for, and the one that gave me the biggest number of problems by far!
So please help me with this asap.
I believe it all happened since I clicked on a recommendation you added a week or two ago. I don't remember what it was, but it was supposed to make everything better. Instead, problem after problem...

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. To take a closer look at this issue, please provide temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP Login info) to your site (preferably staging site), so that I can look into your setup and debug the issue.

Your next answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.

=== Please backup your database and website ===

✙ I would need your permission to deactivate and reactivate Plugins and the Theme and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is essential.

Thank you

It looks like some posts' images were not copied/translated into secondary language properly. To Sync them, I followed the below steps:

1. Went to WPML >> Settings > Media Translation section.
2. Disabled the “Automatically detect best options for translating image texts” option for a moment.
3. Click on the “Setup manually” link.
4. Enable the “Duplicate image texts (alt, caption, title) for all feature images to all languages” checkbox for Existing Content.
5. Press the “Start the Process” button.
6. Re-enabled the “Automatically detect best options for translating image texts” option again.

Now, it shows post featured images correctly on category pages. Could you please check and confirm?

Thank you for your cooperation

Anything else we can do about it?

Thanks for the update. It seems to be a cache problem, I just cleared the site cache from the admin bar (screenshot attached) and now post images shown correctly as you can see in the attached screenshot.

Could you please check and confirm?

Thank you

Yes, it worked.
I noticed the same problem on my other site.
You can see it here: hidden link
So if I follow your steps it should be enough?

Yes, exactly, the same steps should fix it on that site as well. Please give them a try and let me know if it works there too.

Thank you
