This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
You are trying to translate your shop into traditional Chinese, but the product category images are missing after translation. Additionally, once translated to Chinese, the page does not show the option to translate back to English.
Solution:
If you're experiencing missing images in product categories after activating WPML, we recommend you try the following steps:
1. Navigate to WPML > Settings > Custom Term Meta Translation and set the
thumbnail_id
to Copy.
2. Save the changes and then re-save the permalink settings in the admin area under Settings > Permalinks.
3. Edit the product category (e.g., 'Fook Wong Chicken'), click on Save, and then update the translation.
If the issue persists, it might be necessary for us to take a closer look at your configuration. In such cases, we may request temporary access to your site.
Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem continues, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.
