This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
After updating a WooCommerce shop with 4000 products in three languages, issues with URL changes and redirects occurred. Specifically, when switching from a Dutch product page to English or German, the URL incorrectly shows the base category name instead of the translated one, leading to ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS.
Solution:
If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend you try the following steps:
1. Navigate to WPML -> Settings -> Taxonomy translation.
2. Open the product category and check if the slug is translated.
3. Save the changes.
4. Re-save the permalinks.
5. Flush any cache memory that might exist.
6. Double-check if the issue disappeared.
This solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at our support forum.
