Branko Karapandza

Hello,

I have a development version of a site which is going to be on a IP address ex. hidden link. When finished nameservers are going to point to real domain ex. mysite.com.

Please tell me:

1. What type of a licence I need for WPML Multilingual CMS plugin

2. Do I need to register both hidden link and mysite.com with my wpml.org account so transition from hidden link to mysite.com would allow WPML plugin to work properly.

Thank you very much

Hi and thank you for contacting WPML Support!

I will be happy to help you with this.

From what I see, you have the "Multilingual CMS for life" membership so that's enough.

You will simply have to go in your WPML.org account, under the "Sites" section (https://wpml.org/account/sites/) and create a new key for each domain/ip so you will have 2 keys, one for the dev environment and one for the public site.

After you generated the keys, you go to the dev server first and register WPML as it shows here:
https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#register

After you finish working on the dev, you migrate the work on the live environment with a plugin like Duplicator and then you register WPML there, too, using the other key.

Please check this: https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#what-do-i-need-to-do-when-the-sites-url-changes

That should be all you would need to do. 🙂

Please let me know if this solved your issue or if you still need help.

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei
