@all - we have just released WPML 4.0.3, that includes all issues we knew of after WPML 4 was released.

Please let me know after you update if we can close this ticket.

Thanks!

@nicolab-17, could you please send me a snapshot of your site so that I can try to duplicate this issue and troubleshoot further? You can use the duplicator plugin to create the snapshot and send me the archive and installer files. The next reply is marked as private so that only you and I will have access to your files.

If I select a new featured image on a translated and update the post, it still display the English featured image.

I have up to date all WPML plugins:

- WooCommerce Multilingual Version 4.3.2,
- WPML Media Version 2.3.3,
- WPML Multilingual CMS Version 4.0.3,
- WPML String Translation Version 2.8.3,
- WPML Translation Management Version 2.6.3

What I'm doing step by step:

1.- Open a post in Spanish.
2.- Uncheck Under Language Metabox: Media options -> [ ] Use featured image from original post (English)
3.- Remove Featured image in English.
4.- Add New Featured Image in Spanish.
5.- Update Post.

Post won't save Spanish Featured image and still display English Image.

How long should the install media translation process take? My plugin gets to 5% and sticks. There are 3000 posts in the blog (it's been going 8 years) so I was expecting it to be slow, but after an hour I can't tell the difference between slow and broken.

I have exactly the same problem.

Same problem as carlos-franciscoG:

- WooCommerce Multilingual Version 4.3.2.1,
- WPML Media Version 2.3.3,
- WPML Multilingual CMS Version 4.0.3,
- WPML String Translation Version 2.8.3,
- WPML Translation Management Version 2.6.3

1. Open a post/page in German (main language), switch to English.
2. "Use featured image from original post" - already turned off via config, checkbox is NOT checked.
3. Remove Featured image in German.
4. Add New Featured Image in English.
5. Update post/page.

Post/page won't save English featured image and still display german image.

Old post/pages, not updated with new WPML showing the right image.

best regards,
Peter

Hi, I need a small explanation: If I have translated meta title/descriptions for images before WPML 4.X (with Media Translation), do I still need that plugin?

I have added a translation for a product, and the images don't come through in the translation.
See hidden link (translation) versus hidden link (original).

Hi Everyone,

Based on your feedback we have brought back the media duplication feature, you can already try it in the current beta for WPML 4.0.4.

Please leave here a message with what you found so I can quickly escalate and resolve any issues we find.

@sandra - this is a known issue and we have an errata with a fix for that - https://wpml.org/forums/topic/page-builder-strings-are-not-being-saved-in-wpml-translation-editor/

Downloaded: sitepress-multilingual-cms.4.0.4-b.2.zip from the Beta-Channel.

Deleted folder wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms, replaced with sitepress-multilingual-cms from the Beta-Archive.

Plugin shows up as 4.0.3, see Screenshot_1.jpg, in the folder changelog is a 4.0.4.md

Replace featured image in page, see Screenshot_2.jpg

Click "Update"

Featured image is replaced by the german version as in the old 4.0.3 before, see Screenshot_3.jpg.

Config for page see Screenshot_4.jpg

Sorry, did not work for me. 🙁

Sorry for my previous post! I'm still looking at the live site, not on the stage site .. (Shame on me, but its friday afternoon ...)

Okay, plugin shows up as 4.0.4-b.2 ... (Screenshot_2.jpg)

BUT: It won't work as expected!

In the Language config, both checkboxes are checked again (!) after click on "Update" (see Screenshot_1.jpg) and the language specific featured image is overwritten by the image from main language ...

Best regards,
Peter
