Tell us what you are trying to do?
I have created a full back-up of the divineconnection.nl site and restored this in the new build of the site in the shadow environment on divineconnection.nl\site2020. All the content is available after the restore in the new site. The problem that I have is that both the Dutch and the English translations are under the default language Dutch now.

I have been searching on the WPML site, but couldn't find a topic on my question.

Is there any documentation that you are following?
The standard WP back-up and restore routine

Is there a similar example that we can see?
NO

What is the link to your site?
hidden link

Possible CAUSE?!
This is, as said, in development and therefor is the root still on the current site. I see an error message for the URL format, so maybe that is the reason that the translations seems to be not linked after the restore in the development site.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support!

Would you be willing to provide me with WordPress credentials so I could investigate the issue directly?

https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

I marked your next reply as private so that you can safely add credentials.

You can use plugins such as UpdraftPlus WordPress Backup Plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) or ask your host to perform a site backup.

Because in general if you moved your website using any of the known backup and migration plug-ins (Duplicator, etc), there should be no problems with language assignment.

https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-tables/

Because this is where all this information is stored - this is how WPML connects originals with translations.

Can you also check if these tables are in fact there? Because if they are not, then it would indicate that I have not been moved properly or at all.

Regards,
Bruno Kos

Hi Bruno,

Thanks for your reaction. However yesterday I started to connect the Dutch to the English pages by hand. All the content is sorted now.

I assume that all the tables etcetera were already in place, because I can do the manual translations successful.

I have closed the ticket, because I don't want to spend time on it anymore and the content is OK now.
