Hi wpml team,

we had a lot of issues/problems with different stock status in our two languages and want to get rid of this problem once and for all.
Why are the "stock" related system fields set to copy? (we never changed that)
We sell clothes and want the same stock for all languages ...
Can we set the fields to "Don't translate" or do they have to be set to "Copy"?

Best regards
Robert

Hello,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. The product inventory in WooCommerce should be handled automatically when using different languages, it means you should enter the inventory in the default language and then having it automatically updated in the secondary languages. If you are facing issues regarding the stock in the different languages, I recommend you to try the following:

1 - In your WordPress Dashboard > WooCommerce > WooCommerce Multilingual click the 'status' tab and then click the blue 'troubleshooting' link in the right bottom of the WooCommerce Multilingual 'status' tab screen.

2 - Then check the 'Sync product stock quantity and status' option and click the 'start' button.

Please, let me know if helps to solve your synchronization issues. Have a nice day.

Hi Marcos,

we usually do exactly this, when we are facing problems, it solves them sometimes, but they keep coming back. We do not see the point in having a different stock amount or stock status for languages, that makes no sense IMHO, even if it is handled "automatically" and is only in the background.

Is there no way to exclude the stock from "translation"?

One good reason for this is, that we use plugins (e.g. WooCommerce Stock Manager) that offer a more efficient way to update the stock, and they seem to have trouble with WPMLs way to interfere with stock.

Hello,

Thank you for the details. I noticed there's another topic on the same issue, and the reason is the fact the WooCommerce Stock Manager plugin is not yet fully compatible with WPML, this was already reported to our compatibility team. For now the only workaround available for that are described in this forum topic: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/the-stock-manager-dont-update-in-the-other-language/. Here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/what-woocommerce-stock-management-are-compatible-with-wpml/ you find the currently WooCommerce stock manager plugins compatible with WPML. Hope it helps, have a nice day.

Can you suggest a stock management plugin that is compatible with WPML and which does not require to edit the stock in both languages?

Best regards

Hello,

Thank you for the updates. As recommended in my previous reply, in this topic: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/what-woocommerce-stock-management-are-compatible-with-wpml/ you have this alternative: https://woocommerce.com/products/bulk-stock-management/ you can read more about is usage at: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/bulk-stock-management-2/.

Please, note it is not in our responsability details on how to use and troubleshooting third party plugins. Regarding this specific plugin it is listed as compatible at: https://wpml.org/plugin/woocommerce-bulk-stock-management-2/ so I believe you shouldn't have the same stock sync issue when using it. Thank you for your understanding, have a nice day.
