Hello,

Please confirm if inside the User profile the option "Set admin language as editing language" is enabled for the user that is experiencing the issues.

If this is the case, disable the option and the backend should remain in the admin language that is determined inside the WP User Profile.

More details:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/setting-the-wordpress-administration-language/

If this will not solve the issue please provide more details about what is what you expecting to see.

Also, mame sure to update our plugins to their latest version and test if the issue persists in minimal setup, while running WPML only.

I also would suggets updating WordPress as the current version is outdated since quiet some time and might be missing the latest WordPress language files.

Let us know if further assistance is needed.

Best regards
Andreas
