Tell us what you are trying to do?
Our main objective in creating a multilingual website is to sell in other countries, essentially making use of SEO in those countries. We use Yoast Premium. Now I was expecting to get a sitemap similar to the example below, however the yoast sitemap remains only adding the pages in the new languages. Is it supposed to be like this, to get the best performance out of Google's index?
I also take the opportunity to ask another question: Is it okay to enter the translated version (for example of a product) and change details such as the SEO description or some parts of the text? For example: we check after some time that a translated term is not the most appropriate and we change it.

Is there any documentation that you are following?

Is there a similar example that we can see?

Thank you for contacting WPML support. While you are waiting for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with first debugging steps or if I can perhaps help with the issue quickly.

It is expected to only have one sitemap unless you are using different domains per language:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/using-wordpress-seo-with-wpml/#translate-sitemaps

Also, it is fine to update the translation of posts/pages/products whenever you need to.

Hello Lauren,
Thanks for the help.

I understand that there should only be one sitemap. My question has to do with the layout of the sitemap. In other words, the way it is, the pages of language A and language B are in the same list. Wasn't the first sitemap supposed to have a kind of switcher that tells google which pages belong to language A or language B? As in the example I sent. I'm afraid I didn't configure it correctly.

Thanks

Hi Helder Lima,

You can see the sitemap for pages here: hidden link

The sitemap is created by Yoast and their software handles this. Google's bot are able to read and understand the sitemap correctly.

From what I can see it's showing as expected.
