Strange required field notice

frankC-20	Hi there, I have a really strange error: WPML Multilingual CMS adds something to the required fields notice (XY is a required field). In German the notice appears as: "Name wird abgerechnet ist ein Pflichtfeld" as you can see here: hidden link "wird abgerechnet" means "is calculated". When I only had Woocommerce activated, the error disappeared. After activiating only WPML Multilingual CMS, the error appears again. Please advice. Frank

frankC-20	I now understand that WPML Multilingual CMS adds the category name to the required field notice. So in English it's "Billing Name is a required field", where Billing is the field category. So how can I get rid of the category in the notice? Frank

Before proceeding further, may I ask you to try the following? IMPORTANT: Take full backup of your website and database beforehand. It is highly advised to try the following on a staging/dev site first, so your live website isn't compromised. - Update WordPress to the latest version. - Deactivate all plugins except WPML, WPML ST, WCML, WooCommerce and check for the issue. - Activate each plugin one-by-one, while keeping check on the issue after a plugin is activated. This way you'll be able to pinpoint a plugin having a conflict (or problem), if any. - If the problem persists, repeat the above steps with a default theme of WordPress (i.e. 2021 or 2023). Please let me know and I'll try my best to help you further on the matter. Regards.

frankC-20	As you can read in my post, I did that already: When I only had Woocommerce activated, the error disappeared. After activating WPML Multilingual CMS in addition to Woocommerce, the error appears again. So apparently WPML Multilingual CMS adds the category (billing, shipping) to the field name: Billing Last name is a required field. But why and how can I get rid of it? Frank

Waqas Bin Hasan WPML Supporter since 05/2014 Languages: English (English ) Timezone: Asia/Karachi (GMT+05:00)	Thank you for the updates. Have you tried updating WordPress to the latest version? Since you are using latest versions of WPML plugins, it is highly recommended to use latest WordPress also. I also tried this on your website and placed an order (test@example.com) in German language and it went fine, probably WCML isn't active at this point, is it? Please let me know and I'll try my best to help you further on the matter.
