Our chat has been converted to a ticket. Let me know once you have the theme active on the test site and I will continue troubleshooting there. Thanks!

I found the issue, I think there is an issue with the String translation language domain.
The String translation which is not working have a language domain in French.

Working case :
Switch back the String translation domain language to English.
Add a translation for French

Not working case :
Having the String translation domain language in French.
Add a translation for English

I think this is happening because on WPML -> theme and plugin localization, you have selected "Assume that the original language of all strings is English". If you uncheck this box and save the changes, are you then able to translate from French domain to English?
