Hi Laura, I'm starting a new ticket because your previous answer doesn't change anything.

WPML String Translation 2.10.5.1

Hi, I made an update of WP and of WPML and WPML String translation.

- On developpement environnment, PHP 7.0, eveything is working.
- On production enviropnnement, PHP 7.2, some string translations are displayed in English and not translated in other languages. The string are well translated in WPML plugin, but not displayed on frontend.

It's a custom theme.
We use gettext such as : <?php _e("Long-term<br />hire","dc_theme"); ?>

What we tried :

- When I downgrade to WPML 4.2.6, everything is perfect.
- I tried this solution : " Translate themes and plugins using WPML's String Translation only (don't load .mo files)" in WPML > Theme and plugin localization > Localization option

So on production site, we are currently downagraded, and the last updated WPML version is disabled, so as last WPML string translation plugin.

I ever read and test this "non solution". It's not working.

So on my production site, I'm still with 4.2.6 until I find a real solution.

Hi,

I set your next reply as private so that you can put a duplicator link inside (as agreed on the chat). I will send the case to our 2nd tier then.

Regards,
Bruno Kos

Hi,

signed GDPR compliance with our clients

I completely understand the stance - the only other way to get this resolved might be by setting your theme on our clean sandbox and testing there. It could take a while before everything is in place, though, as we would need to have the same setup, pages, etc.

Let me know if you will be willing to go this route - otherwise I am marking these thread as resolved.

Regards,
Bruno Kos
