Some stats using Query Monitor plugin

The backend is pretty much unusable unless I turn off String Trans. Front end slow down 25-75% and backend in some cases 700%.

Query Monitor also reports many Duplicat Queries esp. for woocommerce-multilingual. Check it for the first one below for instance.

None of the sites are released yet but can I release them without String Trans plugin activated?

Yes I've setup String Translation according to you guides, I've tried disabling all plugins, activating them one by one. String Trans is when I get the problem.

Welcome to the WPML support forum. I will do my best to help you to resolve these issues.

Sorry for the late response due to the long queue. It is not normal here. Please share the following details for tracking the issue.

1) Which type of hosting service you are using, shared or VPS or dedicated? Please share more details about your hosting plan.

2) Please share with me the WordPress debug.log (not WPML debug information). Please check this page for instructions https://wpml.org/documentation/support/debugging-wpml/

To enable it, open your wp-config.php file and look for define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);. Change it to:

// Enable WP_DEBUG mode
define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
 
// Enable Debug logging to the /wp-content/debug.log file
define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
 
// Disable display of errors and warnings 
define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );
@ini_set( 'display_errors', 0 );

// Use dev versions of core JS and CSS files (only needed if you are modifying these core files)
define( 'SCRIPT_DEBUG', true );

In this case, the errors will be saved to a debug.log log file inside the */wp-content/* directory. Please do the steps to reproduce the bug and check you are getting any errors or warning related to WPML in the log file.

If you can paste your debug.log to http://pastebin.com/index.php and provide me that link it would be great! (This is the cleanest way because sometimes the logs are long and create a complete mess of discussion).

Hi Bigul, nice to hear from someone, we can't launch as it is now!

It's a DO Droplet, 2 CPU / 2 GB Memory / 50 GB Disk / Ubuntu 16.04.5 x64
Using ServerPilot for the Stack. This is the only WP install on the droplet, a Multisite with 3 site on it.

We have almost 10 installs on different droplets, some with WPML, this is the only one where we have this problem.

Added the debug code, but no log file is generated even if I click around to 20 different pages in the backend and frontend. It's just really slow with String Translation activated.

You can activate and deactivate plugins as you wish on the site, we are not working on it at the moment. You are a Superadmin.

Thank you for the feedback. I went through a few of the pages and products after WPML Troubleshooting steps from WPML>>Support>>Troubleshooting. All the pages and products are loading in less than 3 seconds when WPML String Translation is active. Please check the attached images for more details.

So can you please share the URLs the posts/pages you are having the slowest performance.

Thank you for the updates. I have a doubt about Ctrl Click to open 5 products in their own tabs WITH String plugin. Hope you mean to open 5 products for edit one by one when WPML String Translation is active, am I right?

One more request. Can you please share the FTP credentials. So I can check the *Debug log* while testing the performance.

Hello,

Thank you for the updates and login information. I went through most of the Admin section of the site. Except for the Plugins pages, most of the pages are loading around 2 seconds when WPML String Translation is active. Plugins pages also showing the varied result. Please check the attached images for more details.

Therefore can you please share a screencast for a better understanding of the page/post/product navigation(to replicate the issue).

Hello,

We have a request. Please choose *Auto-Register* option for all the string domains of other Subsites after a backup. Check the attached images for more details. Then make sure is there any difference in the site performance.

If the result is same, please allow me to make a duplicator copy of your site using the Duplicator plugin(https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/) for debugging the issue on my local server.
