I am trying to:

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:

I expected to see:

Instead, I got: after an upgrade from 3.1.8.4 to 4.2.7.1 all strings are marked as not completed, the table wp_icl_string_translations contains no string of those kind, if from /wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpml-string-translation%2Fmenu%2Fstring-translation.php I set the translation of that string as completed it works as expected, I have a lot of them so I cannot check them manually, is there an automated way?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. I've found a similiar issue and solution in this forum topic: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/bulk-edit-string-translations-to-translated/. Please, let me know if it helps.

IMPORTANT: Please, note, a backup is required for security reasons and to avoid any data loss, you can use the https://wordpress.org/plugins/backupwordpress/ plugin for these backup needs.

I will report it to my colleagues if they also have other tickets regarding the issue, so we can investigate the cause of it. Thank you for the report, have a nice day.

Hello Marcos,
that query doesn't solve the issue, i think the trick here would be something to create the records in wp_icl_string_translations table

Hello,

Thank you for the updates. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

**IMPORTANT**

- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link

Please, let me know if you need any additional details. Have a nice day.

Hello,

Thank you for the updates. In this case, we can try an alternative route, for that, please consider: To best troubleshoot the issue, please make a snapshot of your site using the Duplicator plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/. This will allow me to try and duplicate the error so that I can run further tests without interrupting your live site.

Once the snapshot is complete, either upload the snapshot ZIP file and the installer.php file to a file sharing service such as Dropbox (and share the link in your reply) or right click the Duplicator links in your wp-admin and paste in your reply.
Please note: It is important to reduce the size of the package so please exclude some paths like /cache or /uploads and also exclude archives and media files.I will also need the username and password of an account that was created BEFORE creating the duplicator package.I will enable the next reply to be private so only you and I have access to it!

Thank you for your collaboration. Have a nice day.
