This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client needs to synchronize product attributes across different languages in a WooCommerce site using WPML, especially after bulk-importing product translations. The main challenge is to achieve this without overwriting existing custom translations of about 2,200 products.
Solution:
We recommend two main approaches to synchronize product attributes without risking data loss:
1. Edit and Update Individual Products:
- Navigate to the product in the original language.
- Make a minor change in the content or attributes.
- Save these changes and update the translation.
2. Use Bulk Synchronization Options:
- Go to WooCommerce -> WCML -> Status tab.
- Click on the Troubleshooting link at the bottom right.
- Select the options to synchronize the attributes and variations.
- Click on the Start button and wait for the synchronization to complete.
For detailed guidance, refer to the WCML troubleshooting documentation here: WPML Troubleshooting Options.
If these solutions do not apply to your case, or if they become outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.
