This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are working on a site under development and trying to implement a taxonomy page language switcher using WPML. The taxonomy is translatable, and you have translated the taxonomy title. However, the language switcher does not change the language when clicked; it just reloads the page without changing the language indicator. Solution: We activated the WordPress default theme on your site, which resolved the issue. It appears that in your theme, there is a modification converting the taxonomy URL, which causes the language switcher to malfunction. We recommend checking if your theme has any URL rewriting or redirections that might affect the WPML language switcher functionality.
If this solution does not apply because it might be outdated or not relevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If issues persist, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I am working on a site under development and trying to implement a taxonomy page language switcher using WPML. The taxonomy is set to be translatable, and I have translated the taxonomy title. The language switcher URLs are: hidden link and hidden link. However, manually changing the URL to hidden link opens the translated version.
Symptoms:
The taxonomy page language switcher does not change the language when I click on a different language; it just reloads the page without changing the language indicator.
Questions:
Why doesn't the taxonomy page language switcher change the language when clicked?
Shouldn't the language indicator change when I use the language switcher?
Thanks for the video. I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.
Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.
❌ Please back up your database and website ❌
✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
Thanks for creating the terms. I tried to reproduce the issue, but I couldn't. Please check the term on the front end and switch the language. (hidden link)
So, I activated the WordPress default theme on your site, which fixed the issue. Please check this page. (hidden link)
In your theme, there is something that converts the taxonomy URL from (hidden link) to (hidden link), which causes the issue.
