This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are working on a site under development and trying to implement a taxonomy page language switcher using WPML. The taxonomy is translatable, and you have translated the taxonomy title. However, the language switcher does not change the language when clicked; it just reloads the page without changing the language indicator.
Solution:
We activated the WordPress default theme on your site, which resolved the issue. It appears that in your theme, there is a modification converting the taxonomy URL, which causes the language switcher to malfunction. We recommend checking if your theme has any URL rewriting or redirections that might affect the WPML language switcher functionality.

If this solution does not apply because it might be outdated or not relevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If issues persist, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.
