Hi and thank you for contacting WPML Support!

I will be happy to help you with this.

Our public support forum has some privacy rules already implemented into it so any of the links we share in this conversation (outside of the WPML.ORG documentation links) are automatically hidden for everyone else, so it's only the two of us that can see them.

Regarding the credentials, there's a group of private fields that I will enable for you below so that you can share the credentials and please let me know how can I help you.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

**IMPORTANT**

- Please make a backup of the site files and database before providing us access.

- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box.

The private box looks like this: hidden link

In order to be able to help you faster, can you also please paste your WPML Debug information in the Debug information field?
http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei

Hello Mihai Apetrei,

Thank you for the confirmation. You will below my question / problem :

We would like to translate taxonomy terms directly by going through the translation management basket.

At the moment we have to do it manually by going into the taxonomy translation tab but as we have a lot of content to translate we would like to find a way to send them to the translation basket directly.

Are you aware of a way to achieve that ?

Also, we have noticed that sometimes these terms are translated while being integrated inside other pages (that can go through the translation basket). Is there any logic behind it in your code or is it totally unrelated ?

Many thanks for your coming answer.

Best,

Hi.

At the moment, there is no way to send taxonomies to the translation by using Translation management, but only by using the steps in the documentation below:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-post-categories-and-custom-taxonomies/

I think this is a very good suggestion and I would recommend that you take a few minutes (if you can and want) and add it here:
https://wpml.org/suggest-a-new-feature-for-wpml/

If the term is linked to a post or page, it will probably appear in the WPML Classic Translation Editor or in Advanced Translation Editor and you could check with a post that has a term that isn't translated yet.

If you are missing a category translation or something like that, then CTE or ATE will propose it to you only until you translate it.

I hope that you will find this information helpful and please let me know if you have any other questions regarding this topic.

I will be waiting for your response.

Just a note that I won't be working on the weekend so I will be able to get back to you at the beginning of next week.

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei
