The ATE adds a space before every segment inside a paragraph in Chinese.

Hello

I believe that this is intended and if you do not want to have the space between segements, you will need to combine the segments into a common one.

I just tried this same translation with Spanish, and the result is the same. Please givev it a try yourself.

It is just especially noticible with Chinese because of the font being used.

When there are html tags in a segment, I can't combine it with the next one. (I believe, that that is not very good for many-many reasons, mostly because a translation just wiping out upon adding or deleting a tag later, without changing a 'main' text, and joined segments rejoining (if the tag is not within the last) with translation, again, wiping out, but support explained me that the benefits outweight...) Anyway, since I often have html tags, it's not for me.

It is noticible with Chinese because there should be no spaces, except the ones that are part of some characters, like chinese dots and commas, i.e. there shoud no be any 'traditional' spaces. It's not about some special font.

I can understand your reasons for not joining the segments. I simply wanted to point out that this extra white space is not necessarily something that only happens with chinese.

I can escalate this issue to our 2nd tier support group who can then notify the ATE development team about the impact on Chinese translations.

Do you have any other comments regarding this issue before I escalate?

I do understand that WPML adds spaces between segments inside paragraphs for any language, since segments cannot start or end with spaces, but as a rule there should be spaces between segments after all.

I don't have any comments. I would appreciate the escalation of the issue.
