This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: On this site the WP Event Manager Plugin is used which creates a Custom post Type for events.

When trying to click an event in second language the events leads to a 404 - Content not found error, even if the event is translated to 100%.

Solution: In this case the custom ost type slug ("event)" and the custom taxonomy ("events") slug and labels were not translated.

Translate the custom post type slug at: WPML -> Settings -> Post Type Translation and the custom taxonomy slug at: WPML -> Taxonomy Translation.

Tell us what you are trying to do?
I created events using Events Manager plugin. Originally the language is English. I translate to Indonesia and Italy using WordPress translation and the events were successfully displayed in the list, but when clicking the event, it's directed to 404 not found page. I used the WordPress translation because if using WPML translation it's not displayed in the event list. In English everything is fine.

Is there any documentation that you are following?
No.

Is there a similar example that we can see?
Not sure.

What is the link to your site?

Hello,

I do saldy not see any 404 errors after visiting all event archive pages and even after opening each event in each language.

Could it be that the problem only occurs when being logged in? Please provide an example in form of a link and/or affected post title and let us know if further assistance is needed.

Best regards
Andreas

Hello,

My appologies, I was looking into the worng section.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better for a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

IMPORTANT

Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

The steps are also shown in this video: hidden link

Kind regards
Andreas

Please provide me admin access for having a better look at the issue. The private reply form is enabled.

Best regards
Andreas

Hello,

Thank you for your patience.

On the site the event slugs and the event category slugs were not translated.

I fixed that at WPML -> Settings -> Post Type Translation

and

at WPML -> Taxonomy Translation.

See screenshots.

The translation are currently working as expected.

Best regards
Andreas
