This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to translate your Home-Page into German using the Church Theme from Kadence, but the layout changes drastically when switching to German. The Page-Header changes and some content appears boxed instead of full width.
Solution:
We found that the page layout option was not consistent across languages. Here's how we fixed it:
1. Navigate to WPML >> Settings > Custom Fields translation section.
2. Click “Show system fields”.
3. Search for “layout”.
4. Set the “_kad_post_layout” field to Copy and save the settings.
5. Open the default language home page in Edit mode and click Update to sync the layout with the secondary language.

Please check if the layout now appears correctly.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate the Home-Page of my website into German. I have successfully translated some Posts, but when I translated the Home-Page, the layout changed drastically. I am using the Church Theme from Kadence and hosting on SiteGround. The issue can be seen at hidden link.

Symptoms:
When I switch the language to German, the Home-Page layout changes drastically. Another Page-Header is used, and some of the content is now boxed and not full width anymore.

Questions:
Why does the Home-Page layout change when translated to German?
Is the Church Theme from Kadence compatible with WPML?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. I can see the issue in the secondary language home page of your site. The design/layout Sync issue usually happens when there are page options given that are not Sync. So, please follow the below steps and let me know how it goes:

1. Please open the default and secondary language page in edit mode and make sure the same page options are selected.

2. If the same page options are not selected then please go to WPML >> Settings > Custom Fields Translation section and search for that field and set it to Copy and press the Save button.

3. After that, please re-save the default language page’s to copy the field settings into the translation.

Here is a doc for more details:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-custom-fields/

If the issue persists, please provide temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP Login info) to your site (preferably staging site), so that I can look into your setup and debug the issue.

Your next answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.

=== Please backup your database and website ===

✙ I would additionally need your permission to deactivate and reactivate Plugins and the Theme and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is essential.

Thank you

Thanks for providing the login details. I noticed that the page layout option was not the same across both languages, so I followed these steps to fix it:
1. Went to the WPML >> Settings > Custom Fields translation section.
2. Clicked “Show system fields”.
3. Searched for “layout”.
4. Set the “_kad_post_layout” field to Copy and saved the settings.
5. Opened the default language home page in Edit mode:
hidden link
6. Clicked Update to sync the layout with the secondary language.

The layout now appears correct. Could you please check and confirm?

Thank you for your cooperation.
