[Resolved] The Home page has reverted from English to its original language
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are developing a site and trying to translate the Home page to English using WPML. Despite following the provided instructions, the Home page reverts from English back to its original language. Solution: We have recently released WPML version 4.7.6, which addresses this specific issue. We recommend taking a full backup of your site before proceeding. After ensuring your site is backed up, please update WPML to the latest version. Once the update is complete, verify if the Home page remains in English as expected.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should the problem persist, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket with us for further assistance.

Can you help me restore the English version of this page hidden link
I didn't make it!
The problem is definitely caused by the Strang translation plugin, because I turned it off, I made corrections on all the English pages and everything is in place!
You can try to replicate the issue on any existing English page on your live site, just make sure to take a full backup before making changes, as a precaution.
I just checked the page: hidden link and it looks like you've already managed to restore it, it's now showing the correct English content on my end.
As requested, here’s a quick video showing how to restore a page from revisions when the translated content gets replaced: hidden link
Please try reproducing the issue on your site. I’ve made several changes on the staging server, but haven’t been able to replicate the problem there so far.
Let me know how it goes, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Thanks for checking that, it’s really helpful to know that the issue stopped after deactivating the String Translation plugin. That confirms it's related to the known bug.
I’ll gladly help you restore the English version of this page: hidden link
I’ll go ahead and do that now and will let you know once it’s done.
I only need one more thing from you, I would like you to record the complete process from restoring the revision of the English language page to unlinking and re-linking the link of the English translation and the page in the original language.
I forgot to ask one more thing, what if I have a page that I translate to English for the first time, do I turn off the String translation plugin even then or not?
For some reason I can't translate products the same way I translated individual pages.
The problem is that elementor won't start at all when I try to edit the page through elementor!
When I start Elementor trying to open the Product Layout then everything works but if I try to open the product through Elementor it doesn't work. I tried deactivating Product Layout but even then it didn't work, I don't know if it's some problem with WPML again or not but I know everything was working as it should be before I installed your plugin!

I just found out that your String Translation plugin was causing a serious problem and was the cause of me not being able to launch the Product Page using Elementor!!!
When I turned it off I started the page normally...I really don't know how I'm going to finish this project with a bug like this
See for example this problem here, this text I've boxed in red doesn't appear in the Translate editor. Look at picture 1 and 2.
The text that is framed in red is in the Product Template and as such it is not possible to translate it through elementor and it does not appear in the Translate editor nor can I find it in any way through WPML! Watch the video. hidden link
Product Layout controls the appearance of the first part of the product where the Add to Cart button is, while the second part with tabs and descriptions is fully customizable and can be translated according to current practice using Elementor!
1. In this case, unlinking and re-linking is not needed. I initially tried that because the issue first appeared only on the Home page and I thought it might’ve been duplicated — but it turned out to be a different known bug.
Restoring the revision is enough to fix the issue, as shown in this video: hidden link
If you still need a step-by-step video for unlinking and linking translations, I’d be happy to create that as well, just let me know.
2. Great question, yes, as a precaution, I recommend temporarily turning off the String Translation plugin even when you're translating a page to English for the first time. Once the translation is done and published, you can safely turn it back on.
This will help avoid any chance of the bug affecting new translations as well.
