Hey! It seems something just got rolled back to initial default translations.
Products got translated and published. Afterwards the translator went through products [admin->products->product, then selecting to translate within woo product admin, editing the translation, saving]/
While the new translations did show up couple days ago, now they are evaporated and everything is back to the initial auto translated content.
Those products were still pending for review in Translation, then edited in the product admin. did those original versions just overwrote the edits?!
Google "Chief Labietis". It shows the correct beer with correct name. But, when we go to the site via link, we see the old unedited name. So it was fine and at some point those edits were deleted.
"Yeah, this is a classic WPML footgun. Here's what almost certainly happened:
The "Pending Review" trap ate the manual edits.
The workflow was:
Auto-translate runs → creates translation, status = Pending Review
Translator manually edits the product directly in the WooCommerce product admin (not through WPML's translation editor)
At some point — plugin update, someone clicking "sync", saving the original product, or WPML deciding to re-push the pending job — the pending review job overwrote the manually made edits
This is a known WPML behavior: if you update the original version, the translation can get overwritten. WPML puts the translation back into sync mode. WPML"
What to doooooooooooooooooooooooooo?!
I have an option to roll back a backup, but what to do afterwards in order to push the correct edits over the pending preview ones?
With "The manually translated content," do you mean that you created yourself translations inside the Advanced Translation Editor, or do you mean that you edited the translation directly inside the WordPress Editor?
Can you still complete the review of this content?
Best regards
Andreas
