Hi guys,

I have a website which uses Astra as a theme and Elementor as a builder.
I've managed to make the pages translated, I've made a translated version of the header and and the footer.

The problem is that the header doesn't load or sth the translated menu. In Elementor's environment, when I edit the translation copy of my "header-2", the translated menu "main-gr" area appears as a grey empty one, no strings appear.

Same goes for the footer (see attached).

I checked almost all the relevant 'astra elementor wpml menu appear' sources, but didn't get a solution. Do you have an idea why the menus strings don't appear, while the button for instance in the header and the logo work properly?

Thanks in advance
Aggelos

Hi Aggelos,
Thanks for contacting WPML support.

Please try the following steps then clear the cache and check again if the issue is resolved:

1. Please increase the WordPress Memory Limit. According to your Debug.info, the WP memory limit needs to be increased. PHP memory is fine, but WordPress uses 40Mb as default. Minimum requirements for WPML is 128Mb. (Kindly check this page https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/)

You can increase it by adding the following code in your wp-config.php file, right before the /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy publishing. */ line:

/** Memory Limit */
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );

2. Create a full backup of the database and website then update all the WPML plugins to the latest version.

3. Make sure that you're following our guide to translate the menu (https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-menus/)

Let me know please if that helps.

Kind regards,
Mohamed

Hi, just for the record, the solution was to re-create the translation menus manually (create each one adding step by step the translated elements) and not click on creating them automatically from the original.

Thanks for your help
