[Resolved] the standard language has changed to english while the site is german.
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client's website default language changed to English, although it was set to German in WPML settings. The URLs were displaying in English instead of German.
Solution: 1. We asked the client to check if the issue was still occurring. 2. We provided steps to fix the translation for 'produkt' and to translate the 'Gerbstoffe' category to all languages: - Navigate to the WooCommerce Multilingual slugs settings page and correct the translation for 'produkt'. - Go to the product category translation section and ensure 'Gerbstoffe' is translated into all languages. - After making these changes, double-check if the issue is resolved by re-saving the permalinks. 3. We confirmed that the issue was fixed after translating the product-category slugs and re-saving the permalinks.

Tell us what you are trying to do? the standard language has changed to english while the site is german. We didnt change anything and in wpml it says its german. but the site is english (urls etc)

Hi is it possible to chat? as the issue is quite urgent. The urls are changed since default language is set to english. the urls of the product categories are changed. for example, the original language is german. but the system thinks the original language is english and therefore the urls are set to english.. and when you translate german to dutch, the english urls appear: hidden link
Yes, you can open a chat, but if you do so, please mention to the supporter in the chat that you also have this ticket, that way we will avoid duplicates.
Please go to WPML -> Languages -> Tell me which is the default language of the site that appears in the configuration.

Our Debugging Procedures
I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to back up the site before providing us access. If we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.
Please follow these steps:
- Go to hidden link -> Fix the translation for 'produkt' in the second row. I used the same slug for all languages.
- Go to hidden link -> Search for 'Gerbstoffe' -> Translate it to all languages
- Double-check if the issue disappeared
