There is a problem with the String Translation table in your site. This problem is not causing a problem running the site right now, but can become a critical issue in the future. WPML support team knows how to fix it. Please add a message in the relevant support thread and we'll fix it for you.

Hello and welcome to our WPML Support forum.
I'm Alejandro and I'll help you solve your problem today.

Could you please allow me access to your site and make a database backup before I can access?

I have activated the related fields so please add your credentials there in order to keep them safe and private.

I'll proceed to take a look and check what's going on.

Thanks in advance.

I think the problem here is just a caching problem, most probably a browser caching problem because i can't see the notice at all which means there isn't a real problem.

I don't know if you did something already or if you're still seeing it somewhere (on a specific page) but try to access the site on incognito mode or through a different browser and check if you're still seeing that notice.

If you still see the problem and you have cleared your browser's cache or done what i suggest above, then let me know to figure out how to proceed (and maybe send a screenshot where i can also see the URL of the site).

Regards.

Hi. I updated the WPML plugins and the notice was gone after. But; It also deleted the secondary language. I have now restored to the backup from yesterday. The notice is back.

Can you try now? i made all the changes in the database and made sure everything was in order.

I suggest you make a new backup and try to update again and if you re-encounter the missing second language, then please let me know.

Regards.

Hi. Thank you.

I made a backup, and updated the plugins. The second language is still missing though.

I just wanted to let you know that when you installed the new version, it deleted some tables in the database, so i'm trying to fix it myself but afterwards i might have to send it to our database specialist, so he can fix what's left to fix.

I'll update you as soon as i finish.

Can you check now, please? i saw in the database that you had all the languages set but they were not set as active, so once i activated them manually through WPML > Languages, they got fixed automatically (because in the database all the information was correctly set).

This should be a very very rare scenario and shouldn't happen again but if it does, you only need to go to WPML > Languages > Add language > Add the languages that are not showing anymore and they will then inherit everything they had before (posts, pages, configurations, etc)

Regards.

I checked. The languages can be added and activated, and they show up; But now there is only one language, and the other two are missing their translations. It seems like the connection between the languages is broken.

Any ideas?

I see.

I would need a site snapshot if possible because i need to send this issue to our developers.
We usually recommend the free Plugin “Duplicator” for this purpose.

If you already know how Duplicator works (https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/),
please skip the following steps and just send me the archive file you downloaded.

★ Duplicator Instructions
hidden link
https://wpml.org/faq/provide-supporters-copy-site/

If the file is too large (more than 400M), please use the Duplicator file filters to remove the cache, the wp-uploads directory, the media and the archive files.

Send me the link to the archive file (you probably want to use Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar services, as the snapshot file will be quite big).

If you also have a backup of your old site, then please send it too, because it would be very important to know what went wrong.

As a last request, could you give me one post reference or maybe one page reference that you had transalated so i can check your database and see if in the database the language relationship is lost as well (it seems it is) r if it's not

Your next reply will be private, which means that only you and I will be able to see it and have access to it.

You can paste the link to the file there.

Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site.

Yes, i checked, but thanks for the information. please follow the instructions i sent above but if you can please also answer me this:

i see that all the pages and posts, etc seem to be in Sami, and i wonder if by any chance Sami was once the default language or maybe the source language of those posts, instead of Norwegian?

Hi, can you please check the old snapshot download? i could download the new site without issues but i couldn't really download the old one because it seems to only be viewable and not downloadable.

I mostly needed the new one, so there's no rush, it's only in case our developer asks for it.

Regards.
