Hello

The trackbacks disappear when switching from language to another. Is this how it is supposed to work? Do I have any possibility to make sure that the trackbacks are viable on every language like with qTranslate.

Helo Sarah,

Sorry for the delayed response.

If you look into the French translation they are no longer visible.

Is it possible please that you send me temporary wp-admin and FTP access to your installation? Please email the info to [email].

Don't forget to use the topic of this thread in the subject line as referense.

Thank you Ulrich,

I received your email and had a look at your installation.

Here's what I found confusing. When I search through your posts for the post "Many Trackbacks" I get a result without a title! In fact all your posts are without a title!

Then, I see all your secondary languages and I access the translation but I cannot see where I can access the post in the original language.

One more question if I may. Am I correct to conclude that hidden link is a duplicate of hidden link and that you used the qTranslate Importer: http://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/qtranslate-importer/ to convert from qTranslate to WPML?

Hello Sarah,

The reason you didn't see the title is due to this css.

.column-icl_translations {
width: 770px;
}

Yes hidden link is a duplicate of hidden link but I only imported a WordPress content xml file. I didn't use the plugin.

Ulrich,

Thank you for getting back to me.

So let me see if I understand this correctly- please correct me where I am wrong.

1. You imported the default language content using a WordPress import .xml file

2. You duplicated the "Many Trackbacks" post to the various languages you have active.

3. The "Synchronize comment status" and "Synchronize ping status" settings (WPMl -> Translation options) where already checked before you created your duplicates.

OK I had to research this this a little more.

It appears that WPML will not copy comments/pings/trackbacks from the original post to the translations.

I will mark this thread as a "feature request" and close.
