Buenas tardes,
Muchas gracias,
Un saludo,

Hi and thank you for contacting WPML Support!

I will be happy to help you with this.

The way to translate those strings really depends on how they have been implemented in the code.

1. Can you please let me know if you tried to go to WPML > String Translation and search for any of the words in those sentences?

Here is some very helpful documentation on how to use the String Translation plugin:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/

If it's not there, it could help if you scan the plugin/theme that's generating the strings and then go back to WPML > String Translation and see if the strings show up:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/theme-localization/

2. If you can't find it inside the WPML > String Translation, it might be added as admin text.

This should be the normal process to translate admin texts:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-theme-options/

If you still can't find it, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

**IMPORTANT**

- Please make a backup of the site files and database before providing us access.

- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box.

The private box looks like this: hidden link

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei

Hi and thank you for the information.

I used another Browser this time and I've set it to Spanish before visiting the site.

Unfortunately, I get the same error.

Is there any country-login limitation? My guess is that the system is seeing my IP (I am from Bucharest, Romania) and it might be set to allow only IPs from Spain.

Can you please check?

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
Mihai

Good morning,
the technical service tells me that it has nothing to do with the IP, it is only necessary to have one of the previously mentioned languages installed in the web browser

Hi.

I switched from Spanish to Catalan and it seems that it worked this time.

I spend a good amount of time on your site and I also scanned for strings but I still don't find the strings you are referring to.

This might be a compatibility issue and I might need you to replicate this on a testing server but first: can you please let me know the exact steps that I would need to follow to get to the place in the WordPress backend from where you added those strings?

I would need to understand how and from where you added those strings.

I will be waiting for your response.

Please let me know.

Kind regards,
Mihai

Hi and thank you for the confirmation.

I will spend a bit more time on it and if I can't find a way to get this working, I will create a sandbox environment where I will need you to replicate the issue.

Then, I can forward this to our Compatibility department so that they can take a look, too and see if they can come up with a solution.

I will leave this ticket assigned to myself and I will get back to you as soon as I have more feedback.

Just a note that I won't be working on the weekend so I will be able to get back to you at the beginning of next week.

Kind regards,
Mihai

Hi and thank you for your patience.

It seems that there's no actual way to translate that field at the moment - my guess is that the plugin is not fully compatible with WPML at the moment.

I created this sandbox environment here for you:
hidden link (one-click automatic login)

I would need you to just upload the "Give - Donation Plugin" there, install it, set it up and then reproduce the issue on our environment, too.

After that, please let me know and I will check it. If things happen on our server, too, I will escalate this to our compatibility team and they will take a closer look.

The idea with this sandbox environments is that we need to have installed just the theme/plugin that is creating issues with WPML so in our case please install just the plugin I mentioned above.

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
Mihai

Hi and thank you for installing the plugin.

Can you please remove it for the moment and upload the latest version of it? (from what I can see here - hidden link - there is an update available).

Also, after you do this, can you please try to recreate the issue on our servers, too?

Practically try to enter some text in the plugin options as you did in the first post of this ticket and then try to see if you can translate it.

The sandbox I created for you already has the WPML plugins installed so all you would need to do is just configure them.

Please let me know how that goes.

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
Mihai
