distinti saluti

Hello,
Thank you for contacting WPML support.

1.- This ticket was opened in the English section of the forum. Would you like to continue in English or do you rather been transferred to an Italian speaker support specialists?

2.- Please increase the PHP Memory Limit. Minimum requirements are 128Mb: https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/
You can add this to wp-config.php to increase WP memory:

/** Memory Limit */
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M');
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M' );

- Add it above the line /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

Kind regards,
Carlos

Hi there,
Thank you very much for your feedback.

Have you look into the admin texts: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/#admin_texts

Regards,
Carlos

Carlos, I tried to follow your guide, but unfortunately what I need to translate is not an admin string. I need to translate a custom field, checkbox in particular, and it has been created with pods plugin. I cannot find how to translate it in any section. I searched everywhere

Hi,
Thank you for your clarification.

In this case I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Regards,
Carlos

Hi,
Thank you very much for the information provided.

I took a look at the issue in the site and even with the labels translated correctly the issue persists. The labels in Italian keep showing in English. I suspect that the cause of this issue is that the code to print the labels is not using the correct functions.

I also look into our Multilingual-Ready Plugins list and this plugin doesn't appear (you can double check this here: https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/) Which means that the plugin hasn't been validated by our compatibility team yet.

In this scenario the first step is for you to contact the authors of this plugin and let them know about the issue, they should be able to give you a solution. In any case I kindly ask you to keep me update just in case we need to escalate this ticket to our compatibility team.

Please provide some contact information of the plugin's authors so I can pass it to compatibility team.

Best regards,
Carlos

Hi Carlos, thank you for your support. Which plugin you need author’s information? Pods plugin?
In this case can you tell me what I need to say to them?
In the link you provided I can see that pods has not been validated, how can I validate this plugin?
We really need to translate those labels, can you help me to use the correct function?

Hi,

1- Which plugin you need author’s information? Pods plugin? -> Yes

2.- In this case can you tell me what I need to say to them? -> Please explain them what you are trying to achieve and that everything is correctly translated in WPML but the translations are not shown in the backend nor the frontend.

3.- In the link you provided I can see that pods has not been validated, how can I validate this plugin? -> You can invite the plugin's authors to join our Go Global Program through this link: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/

This will put them in direct contact with our compatibility team where they can work together to validate the plugin.

4.- We really need to translate those labels, can you help me to use the correct function? -> Custom coding falls outside of our scope as a support service, also we don't offer support to third party functionalities. However I can recommend you to visit this link where you will find the official information about internationalization (i18n) in WordPress: https://codex.wordpress.org/I18n_for_WordPress_Developers

Best regards,
Carlos
