Andrea

Please Vuk, can you set private this support?
I need to translate the text in the screenshot of Translate Cookie Notice by dFactory (https://wordpress.org/plugins/cookie-notice/).
The plugin is compatible with WPML - please what do you think?

Really thanks!

Hi Andrea,

Thank you for contacting support forum.

Sorry but there is no option to set the thread private all threads are public. May I know why do you want to make this thread private?
As plugin is not listed here https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/ so I am not sure about the comparability of this plugin. But it is not necessary that it can not be translated.

Please follow these steps:-
#1 Provided that you have the "WPML String Translation" add-on installed please follow these steps:
1. Go under "WPML -> Theme and plugins localization"
2. Make sure that "Translate by WPML." is active
3. Scroll down to "Strings in the theme" and click on "Scan the theme for strings"
4. Scroll down to "Strings in the plugins", select the plugin you want to scan and click on "Scan the selected plugins for strings"
5. Once you followed the above steps go under "WPML -> String Translation". All strings available for translation should display in the table you see there.
Do you see them? If yes, all you need to do is click on "translations" next to each string you want to translate.

#2 If above steps does not help you then please let me know did you set this text in back-end?

#3 Please go to WPML > Support > Debug Information and give me the information in the next reply. You can read the detailed instruction here: http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

Thanks

Hi,

You are using old version of WPML and string translation.
If you are NOT an ICanLocalize client then you can upgrade to WPML 3.2.2 and String translation to 2.2.2
Please follow this article and watch the video carefully before updating https://wpml.org/2015/06/wpml-3-2-released/
Get all latest versions from here https://wpml.org/account/downloads/

NOTE:
Also make a backup (both files and database) for your site before updating/proceeding anything (Always a good practice!).

Thanks

Hi,

I tested this plugin and it is working fine with WPML. According to the screenshot you sent to me you are translating on wrong place. The string is default text.
As I asked you earlier here https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translate-cookie-notice-by-dfactory/#post-668864 in #2 point the text is coming from back-end.
Please follow the procedure what I followed to translate.

#1 Go to the cookie settings page Settings > Cookies Notice: and enter English notice there "This site uses cookies only to collect information about how visitors use our site. By continuing to navigate this site, you accept our use
of cookies." then save the settings.
#2 Go to WPML > Theme and plugins localization and check "Cookie Notice " plugin under the "Strings in the plugins" then click "Scan the selected plugins for strings"
#3 Once done go to WPML > String translation and select context "Cookie Notice" remember "Cookie Notice" not "cookie-notice". Do you see all those custom strings? then translate them and let me know.
If you do not see those strings please send me the full screenshot.

Thanks
