I am trying to: Translate my MailChimp form that popup from the bottom right. I have followed the steps from this guide: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/mailchimp-for-wordpress-multilingual/ It all works fine until step 2.d. The form are not translated after I have clicked Save & Close. I have two languages on the site, English (main language) and Danish.
Have I missed something?

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: The form should be translated to second language (Danish).

Instead, I got: No translation.

Best regards,
Paw

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support!

I assume that it is a popup "Sign up for our newsletter"?

Can you try this and let me know if it works for you?
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/using-mc4wp-pro-form-translation-page-shows-fields/#post-1504886

So in this case, you would arrive to translated form (provided that you translated it using https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/mailchimp-for-wordpress-multilingual/, as you confirmed already) and update form fields manually.

Another thing - have you tried searching for those strings within String Translation plugin and check if they are translated there?

Let me know how it goes!

Regards,
Bruno Kos

Hi Bruno,

Thank you for replying.

Yes it is correct that it is the popup "Sign up for our newsletter". I have tried to translate the "SIGN UP" button to danish (da) with the text "TILMELD". But noting happened.

I have tired to replace the code in line 61 in the class-widget.php file, but the line isn't the same as mentioned, so I didn't changed anything.

I have also tried to switch the language to danish as also mentioned in the topic, but it still doesn't works.

In String Translation, no strings were found.

Will it be easier if I give you access to my backend?

WPML plugins installed is:
WPML Multilingual CMS
WPML Media
WPML String Translation
WPML Translation Management

Paw

Hi again,

Thank you.

Okay. I think I'm all good with the demo login.
I have now uploaded the MC and also the Boxzilla plugin with the same setup as in my website. I have not added another language (danish).

Please let me know if you need more setup.

Best regards,
Paw

Hi,

Thank you for going through this.

Please let me know if you need more setup.

Can you try adding another language now and translating the popup according to what we tried already? It most likely will not work, but before escalating that site to our Compatibility team, we will need to confirm on our Sandbox the same (non working) scenario.

Bruno Kos

Hi,

Oh sorry, I have now added the second language so the scenario will be the same.
I have tried to translate in the Translation Management, without any luck. Could the problem cost that the Translation status is still in progress?

I have also tried searching for strings in String Translation, and also without any luck.

Best regards,
Paw

Hi,

Can you check this now?

Here is how I translated it:

The reason why It didn't work because we forgot to install this plugin:
https://wpml.org/download/mailchimp-for-wordpress-multilingual/?section=changelog

Can you try installing in on your site and try translating it then? I am sorry for the inconvenience, I forgot to check if you had it installed on the site (it is mentioned here, though - https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/mailchimp-for-wordpress-multilingual/).

Hi Bruno!

Yay, it worked!

I'm sorry that I didn't installed the required plugin, I thought that it was one of the other plugins that I already had installed.

Anyways, it works perfect now.

Thank you so much for helping me out. Hope you have a great day.

Best regards,
Paw
