I am trying to edit the translation of posts and pages without the translation management.
I found another help entry asking the same question (https://wpml.org/forums/topic/disable-the-wpml-editor/) but I cannot find the option described as solution in this post.

There is no option 'Create translations manually' in WPML > Settings > How to translate posts and pages.
Did anything change with updates of the plugin in the meantime?

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. We have moved manual translation option inside the page editing screen. When you are editing a page, there is a new option "Use WPML's Translation Editor" -- please see attached screenshot.

Click it and you are prompted if you want to make this change site-wide or for one page/post only.
