Hello,

Note: Not sure if this is a question for WPML or DIVI helpdesk, so I'll send this question to you both.

I've translated our Ditty News ticker with WPML from dutch (NL) to english (EN) en french (FR)
It generates 3 codes.
NL = [ditty_news_ticker id="4763"]
FR = [ditty_news_ticker id="34439"]
EN = [ditty_news_ticker id="34440"]

In the dutch page (Divi theme) in the Code module i've placed the dutch code [ditty_news_ticker id="4763"]

While translating from dutch to english or french I use the english and french code.

When viewing the website hidden link in the dutch version the ticker is visible, but in the english and french version it is not.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the help in advance.
Tony

Hi Tony,
I was checking your site and I noticed that the ticker is visible in NL version (in NL language), in EN version (but in NL language), but isn't visible in FR version.
So, it would seem that there is some problem saving your post.
Keep in mind this document
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/divi-builder/
and, please, check if you've translated and saved your content in the right way.
Thank you, Francesco

Hello Francesco,

Thanks for your reply.
I'm puzzling with this.
I'm trying some things and therefore the english site gave a dutch version and the french site gave nothing.

I'm familiar with WPML and how to translate pages, posts, etc.

However I can't seem to manage to make the Ditty News tickers visible.
Right now, when saving a change. The page seems to freeze.
Saving...... stays visible, but doesn't complete.
What step do I have to take?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Tony,
❌ Before proceeding please make a full database and website backup! ❌
Then, please can you try this:
- Switch to the Twenty Seventeen theme and try to save and duplicate the post.
Is the issue still there?
- Switch off all the WPML non-related plugins and try to save and duplicate the post and translate it independently.
Is the issue still there?
If not, please try to switch on the deactivated plugin one-by-one and let me know when the issue arises.

Also can you please enable the WordPress debug mode?
- Open the wp-config.php file that is inside your WordPress root folder and search for this line:

define('WP_DEBUG', false);

- Change it to:

define('WP_DEBUG', true);
define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );

Now the errors will be logged in the debug.log file inside /wp-content/ folder.
Try to save the post to record the issue in the log file.
Now, please post the content of wp-content/debug.log file here in the forum or on pastebin.com if it is too big.

Related documentation:

Hello Francesco.

Thanks for the help.
I still can't seem to get it to work.
Can I give you access to have a look.
I'm afraid I might mess things up.

Hi Tony,
I would like to request temporary access (WordPress and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.
For this, I'll need to install the Duplicator plugin on your site.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
I'll also install the ARI Adminer plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/ari-adminer/) to check the DB of your site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

**IMPORTANT**

- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.

- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link

Thank you, Francesco

Francesco,
I've sended you the needed information.
The news ticker can be found on the homepage.
The homepage is translated with WPML, but the ticker won't show in english or french version.
Thanks for helping me out.

Hi Tony:

1.- Please increase the PHP Memory Limit. Minimum requirements are 128Mb: https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/

You can add this to wp-config.php to increase WP memory:

/** Memory Limit */
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M');
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M' );

- Add it above the line /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

2.- Regarding the tickers. Please double check the IDs of the shortcodes. (See attached images).

3.- Please fix the Javascript Error that appears in the console, this might be causing conflicts with the tickers. (see attached image).

Regards,
Carlos

Carlos,

I tried to change the wp-config.php, but can't seem to find the line you mentioned
(Add it above the line /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */)

Below i pasted the complete wp-config.php
