This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
You are trying to translate a page using WPML's Advanced Translation Editor, but after completing the translation to 100%, clicking 'Finish' and 'Save', the translated version does not appear or seems not to have been saved. The interface shows a '+' as if no translation was done.
Solution:
If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend you follow these steps:
1. Ensure you have a backup of your website before proceeding.
2. Navigate to WPML -> Support in your admin dashboard.
3. Click the 'troubleshooting' link below the plugin versions list.
4. In the 'Clean up' section, perform the following actions:
- Clear the cache in WPML
- Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
- Fix element_type collation
- Synchronize local job ids with ATE jobs
- Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE
- Set language information
- Fix post type assignment for translations
Additionally, try making a slight modification to the original page, save it, and then navigate to the WPML translation editor to complete the translation again. Check if the issue persists with a newly created page.
This solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.
