[Resolved] Translated pages are more different for the content than only the text

Problem:
You are using WPML to translate pages from Dutch to English and have noticed that the translated pages have different content structures, such as varying paragraphs and headlines.

Solution:
To support different content structures for translated pages, we recommend using the WordPress Editor. This tool allows you to maintain custom structures for each translation. Background of the issue:
I'm successfully using WPML to translate pages from Dutch to English. However, the translated pages differ not only in language but also in content structure, such as different paragraphs and headlines.

Symptoms:
The translated pages have different content structures beyond just language differences.

Questions:
How can I support different content structures for translated pages with WPML?
How can I solve the issue of having different paragraphs and headlines in translations?

Before proceeding further, may I request some clarification about your query please? Like, do you want to have different content structure (i.e. design and layout) for translated version of the content or are you referring to this as an issue (i.e. translations should "not" have different design except the translated content itself)?

Hello Waqas,

I write my pages first in the primary language (Dutch) and then translate them into English. While the core content remains the same, the text structure (such as the arrangement of H1, H2, H3 headings and paragraph divisions) differs between languages.

For example, on legal topics such as divorce and alimony, the overall content is similar in both languages, but certain paragraphs are structured differently, and headings may vary depending on the language and audience.

What is the best way to handle this in WPML so that I can maintain flexibility in structuring the text differently per language without issues with synchronization or translations?

Thank you for the update.

To use different structure (or design) per translation, you can use WordPress Editor. This gives you the liberty of maintaining structures based on your custom needs.
