Hello,

The theme I am using, has the customizer section for changing parts of the theme- this includes a section for the header, which has a ´contact form´ buttom at the top. I have tried to translate using the string translation, but it doesn´t recognise this.

I´ve attached a picture of the customizer section, and the point in the page that I want to translate.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting the WPML support!

First, could you provide your debug info? Just follow these steps: http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

Can you check you have a wpml-config.xml file inside your theme's root root directory?

Regards,
Pierre

Hi there,

I am having to use an older version of WPML, because there is a problem with the MBstring extension on my server. I have tried to update it, but it won´t build properly.

Is there another way to debug than the way you described?

I cannot see the WPML-config.xml in the theme´s root, root directory.

Many thanks.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.

I think this is a compatibility issue with your theme.

#1 If you are using a public/commercial theme, to ensure that this theme is made compatible with WPML we need to contact the theme author and work with him on resolving the issue.

Could you please provide a link to your theme's download ( or purchase) page as well as contact information (email?) to the theme's author so we can contact him?

You do not need to do anything other than providing the theme's author name and email. We will contact the author.

#2 If you are using a custom theme, developed by yourself or by a contractor, you will have to read this documentation to make it compatible: http://wpml.org/documentation/support/achieving-wpml-compatibility-for-your-themes-and-plugins/ and http://wpml.org/documentation/support/achieving-wpml-compatibility-for-your-themes-and-plugins/debugging-theme-compatibility/

I am waiting for your feedback.

Regards,
Pierre

Thank you for the details you provided.

This theme is not already listed in our compatibility page: http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/

I will forward the details to our Themes & Plugins Compatibility Team and they will contact the author.
Please note that this process may take a while as it depends on how soon the author will reply to our efforts to contact him.
It would be great if you can also contact the author asking him to reply us. This may help expedite the process.

We are closing the ticket but we will keep it in our records. You will be notified the moment we have the author’s cooperation in this process.

Regards,
Pierre
