Hi there we have front end forms built with ACF Pro and I want to translate only the Labels and descriptions without duplicating the fields. The data entered by the user is numeric and must not be translated, but the labels need to be so that the user can see what to fill in.

Hey guys, still here... are you able to offer support for your plugin or am I going elsewhere?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting WPML support.

I'm sorry for the late response.

1.- I would like to ask you to visit this links where you will find our official documentation about translating ACF with WPML:
- https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/#making-acf-fields-translatable
- https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/#translating-acf-fields

2.- Please increase the PHP Memory Limit. Minimum requirements are 128Mb: https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/
You can add this to wp-config.php to increase WP memory:

/** Memory Limit */
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M');
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M' );

- Add it above the line /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

Please let me know if you need further assistance and I will be happy to help.
Kind regards,
Carlos

Hi thanks for your help there, ok so my next question is:

Does this method of translating the field groups use the same ACF field keys as the original field group?

As per ACF documentation, it is often necessary when updating and querying fields to use the field keys, it would be a problem for us if different field keys are used for different languages.

Again, we do not want to translate the content, only the field labels and descriptions.

Hi there,

You should be able to keep the same ACF field key when translate the fields. However, I recommend you to test this first with one ACF and if there isn't any issue then finish the rest.

Note: Please don't forget to create a full backup of the site before making any change, for security reasons.

Best regards,
Carlos
