Tell us what you are trying to do?
Hello, I am trying to translate the Tables headers. In all languages I have same tables but need to translate only their headers.
I can not find the header names in the String translation, neither I have an option (plus in front of the tables to translate them.
Should I add somewhere that I want to translate this plugin? It calls TablePress.

P. S. Again I do not know where to add the credentials to the site.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Hello,

Thank you for the updates. Please, try the following:

1 - In your WordPress Dashboard > TablePress > All Tables click to edit the table you need to translate its header.

2 - Change to the language you need to translate the table header using the language switcher in the WordPress Dashboard top admin bar.

3 - Now click to edit the header of your table and translate it.

Please, let me know if it works for you. Have a nice day.

Hello. So I tried it and it does not work.
But my colleges just told me that we call these tables not trough the plugin but trough a shortcode that comes from the function.php
Is there anyway that I can call these "words/tables headers" in the string translation from the WPML?
I am talking about 4-5 words. For examples: Instrument; Leverage; Spreads
Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Thank you for the updates. After a bit of searching in our forum I realized the TablePress plugin is not yet fully compatible with WPML, this is why some manual effort is needed to get your tables translated, here are the suggestions from our compatibility team and the TablePress auhtor:

"A good and solid approach here is to simply maintain one table per language. Just pre- or postfix the table ID with the language abbreviation (“en-products” and “de-products” for example) and use the correct ID in the Shortcode of the translated page."

See: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/translate-tablepress-tables-with-wpml-plugin/#post-10922237

In summary, you can clone your tables and keep one table per language, it shouldn't be a huge amount of work since you just need to translate the tables heading, in this case, just clone it, translate the tables heading and set a different id for each table, then paste the generated shortcode for your translated pages.

Please, let me know if you need any additional clarifications. Have a nice day.

Hello,

Thank you for the updates. Unfortunately I am not familiarized myself with any popular table plugin I can recommend for you, I suggest you take a look at https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/table/ and make sure it appears in our list of compatible plugins at: https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/. Hope it helps, have a nice day.
