I am trying to:
translate the site into english in the customizer areas and the strings are not working.
the support of the 'OnePress' theme had a look already with a login, but let me know that it is not possible to translate the admin text with string translation and that I should contact WPML support.

I will be happy to help you with this.

The strings from the theme options or the customizer area can't usually be found inside WPML > String Translation because they are added and they live as admin text.

This should be the normal process to translate admin texts:

Can you please take a look and try following the steps in the link above?

hi, thanks for your fast reply. Appreciate it!

These are the steps I already went through with the theme support (they did recommend WPML btw) BUT still it is not working, unfortunately.

I got the same link by the other support also and followed all the steps. Afterwards, they had a look then and couldn't solve the problem either. So now I dont know what to do...

this is their reply:
Hi Mel,

I'm not sure about the problem with WPML in your site, somehow it cannot translate the admin text with String Translation which is working well in my local site. Please try to contact the WPML supporter to ask them to troubleshoot your site.

Let me know if there is any information.

Can you please try this and see if it solves the issue:

1. I have noticed that your website’s WP Memory Limit is 40MB. The WP memory limit needs to be increased as the minimum requirement for WPML is 128Mb WP Memory Limit: https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/

❌ Very important: please make a backup of your site (files & database) before following any of the upcoming steps ❌

Please add this to your wp-config.php file to increase WP memory:

/* WP Memory Limit */
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );

Paste it just before:

/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

These settings can be limited directly by your hosting provider, so, if that’s the case, I recommend you to contact and ask them to modify them directly. If you can get even higher values It would be great.

Please make sure you have updated the values successfully, You can verify them from WPML >> Support page.

2. Please increase MaxInputVars to 50000. For this, please try to set this variables in your php.ini:

max_input_vars = 50000;
suhosin.post.max_vars = 50000;
suhosin.request.max_vars = 50000;

You may need to contact your hosting provider to set them.

Please make sure you have updated the values successfully, You can verify them from WPML >> Support page.

Please let me know how that goes and if it solves the issue.

hi, thanks for your reply.
I did call the support of my hosting provider and they told me that they did increase the wp memory to 500MB
But it still doesnt show in the WPML Support?

hi,

it's done. We indreased the upload max and maxinputvars. (pls see screenshot)
But unfortunately still the plug in WPML is not translating the customizer section?
What else can I try?

I will need a bit of help from you.

I am not able to understand how is the content for example created in the homepage.

I am trying for example to find sections from the homepage, like the one at the top saying "EIN RÜCKZUGSORT – UM DINGE ANDERS UND NEU ZU DENKEN." but I am not able to find it nor to understand how and from where do you create the content for the homepage and how is it served.

Can you please explain to me a bit about this process (if you have screenshots or a screen video recording, that would also help a lot).
