I just did the test to make sure. I created a new post with field "related" from ACF and checked the database and I saw the field. Then I removed the field from the field group and checked the database again. The field is still there.

So like I said, WPML is not checking what created the field but if it is in DB. And it is there, WPML sees it and adds to the Translation Preferences table.

Hmm might be right did only see it in one test since I only performed one test so can say mine is bullet proof. But there should be an easy SQL query to find all ACF fields and be able to delete them based on what's in the CMS. Consider the meta_value is unique and can be connected and looked up within wordpress CMS.

OK, I understand your point. I created bug tracking ticket for this and we will discuss this with the dev team and see if this is possible to do with the current codebase. Bruno will let you know when we have any progress.
