Hello,
Thank you for contacting WPML support.

Could you elaborate more on this issue so I can have a better understanding? Please describe the steps to reproduce the issue on the site.

Also, you can attach some screenshots where the issue can be seeing.

Kind regards,

Translations are done but they do not show!

I keep paying translators to do the jobs over and over, they do it and then the translations disappear again.
This is frustrating!

It's happening not only in FR but in IT also from time to time.
I can never be sure that the translation "sticks", as it may disappear again.

Apart from the wasted time, it costs me money.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply.

I suspect there might be some kind of compatibility issue between WPML and third-party functionality. I kindly ask you to follow the steps described in our official documentation to translate a portfolio item: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/enfold/#Translating-custom-post-types-taxonomies

Could you tell me if the issue persists if you translate one portfolio using the Classic Translation Editor or the Advance Translation Editor?

Regards,
Carlos

¡Hola Carlos!

I'm sorry but your reply is a generic one and doesn't focus on our problem.
We have the same issue in all languages. The more translations are coming in, the bigger the problem becomes!

Please help by contacting me with a solution.

Thanks,
Max

Hi Max,

The link provided shows the steps to follow in order to translate a portfolio item using WPML. If following those steps the issue disappears in a new portfolio then the issue is not caused by WPML.

If the issue persists then WPML might be having a conflict with a third-party functionality.

So, if you create a new test portfolio and translate it to a secondary language using Classic Translation Editor or Advance Translation Editor, does the issue persists?

Regards,
Carlos

Hi Carlos,
thanks for your response.
I have added a test portfolio and the problem did not occur there.

The translated text of the original portfolio entries seems lost! Can you please help me to retrieve it?
All the work in vain!?! 🙁

Thanks,
Max

Hi Max,
Thank you for your reply. I will be more than happy to help you 🙂

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to back-up the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Regards,
Carlos
