Hello there,

I can replicate the issue on your site, but when I try to replicate it on fresh install I couldn't replicate it so this must be related to some site specific settings.

Can you provide me wp-content backup and database backup of your site? You can zip those files and share the links with me using some file sharing platforms.

I have enabled the private reply for you.

Thanks

Hello there again,

Do you mean of the live site with at the moment no bug?
Or a backup of the test-site with the bug?

Kind regards

Hello Shekhar,

I was looking at the test-site.
But the bug also is there still. Even with the default theme.

You can see it here that it does not recognize the correct flexible fields:

English:
hidden link

Dutch:
hidden link

The system should have all the same flexible content rows.
But because it translated the names (slug, not the label) of the ACF row it doesn't recognize it.

-----------

So there you have the bug.

You do not see the bug on the front-end because you do not load the ACF fields as we do. So that's to be expected. The problem lies in that it translated the serialized content in the database as i showed you.

"content_1_columns" is also now in the database. While it should be "content_1_koloms" for example.

And it's not limited to this field only, it's all flexible fields names get translated for the meta_key "content".

I can also make a video for this in the setup you have now on the test-site.

----------

Hope to hear from you.

Hello there,

Looks like I wasn't clear, I can see the issue on the provided site, what I meant by test site is a different site setup by me.

Can you provide me wp-content backup and database backup of your site? You can zip those files and share the links with me using some file sharing platforms.

I have enabled the private reply for you.

Thanks

The reply does not seem private, can you make it private?

Hello there,

Our 2nd tier support checked the issue and suggested the following changes:

- Go to ACF->Fields Groups
- Change the translations preference to Expert for this field group
- Set the content fields as copy, in this mode you have to select translations preferences manually.

I tested this and for me the issue doesn't occur after this setup change, can you verify it.

Also, 2nd tier suggested to use a different field name then "content" if possible.

Look forward to your reply.

Thanks

Hello Shekhar,

I tried this and on my end this does not work on the live site.

Could you perhaps make a video to show how to fix it in hidden link?

Meanwhile I am away for the long weekend. So a new reply will be next week Tuesday.

Kind regards
Dennis

Thanks

Hello,

What field do I need to change to "Expert" -> "Copy"? Wich exact one?
Wich exact to delete once?

This would mean I would need to pay for translation all over again?

Hope to hear from you.

Kind regards.

Hello there,

- Go to ACF->Fields Groups
- Change the translations preference to Expert for this field group [Attached screenshot]

https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/

Once this is done, for the flexible field set the translations method to copy.

Wich exact to delete once?

You will need to login to postmeta tables and delete the content field as we already did here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/turn-off-automatic-translate-texts-strings-from-acf-field-group/#post-17153036

This would mean I would need to pay for translation all over again?

No there is no need to pay for translations again, as WPML automatic translation editor uses translations memory, if similar content is translated before, it will not charge any credits.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks

Hello Shekhar,

I will try to do this tonight and let you know here.

Hello Shekhar,

If I do this, it tells me this:

You need to manually translate this message because the field groups associated with it use different translation options.

Also, it doesn't seem to work, but hey, no video as I asked before. Why do what a customer asks huh?

-------

I am getting really tired of this by now. I will try to come up with a solution myself, as most of the times with support here...

Too bad the plugin has many bugs, I even sent u guys video's etc. and after weeks, still no proper solution. I asked for a video, still no video.

If the plugin works, it's great, but if there is a bug, it's so complicated to get it fixed.

Thank you for reading,

Regards
Dennis

I know you can not help the bug yourself, but it's just so frustrating.

I will check this tomorrow on the dev site (hidden link) and come back to you once more.
