In the product place We entered a certain number of products but WE HAVE A BIG PROBLEM already sent to Andre inside the heart of wpml that make confuse many datas

RESULT : WE FIND DATAS ENGLISH IN FRENCH OR
DATA FRENCH INTO ENGLISH. etc WE TRANSLATE IN A LANGUAGE (2 other languages thant english) AND NEXT DAY EVERYTHING IS REPLACED BY ENGLISH

IN THE WOOCOMMERCE OR PRODUCT AREA

WE CANNOT ACCESS OUR ENGLISH PRODUCT OR FRENCH PRODUCTS

PLESE PROVIDE AQAP the private mode for me to send you access

after receive access, please check our setup WPML

THIS troubles happen recently (december after uptdating your pluging and passing in WP 5)

1. Accessing FR and EN products
I was able to access/view products in FR and EN (see image)
Is this still a problem?

Hello Yvette,

Sorry we didn't see your message. I sent you I think all information to access our site. This is the best way to do as envent calendar is looking for their problem and avada also. I suggest you to say to us step by step where do you find mistakes.

You right we always passed by the internal page tool (see translation too and translation tool 2 images). In your mail you mentionned many info that we don't know. Please is it ok for you if first you do a comment on our settings? We uploaded for you a image about the parameter how to translate.

As you observed good the situation is like this:

1 The website is developed in english

2 we have one translation french and on translation khmer.

3. we translated until now as mentioned before. But we use inside our pages the elegant elements and it's look that there is no tool for them so we translated them direct inside the pages.

I think until now it is already a lot.

I am Dominique and I apologize if I do not really answer your last reply because I try to navigate insides the past tickets and I got confuse. In all the problem we have remember that most of them are RANDOM. So things are changing. I think if we start a it from the beginning this will be faster. But you are the specialist. Don't hesitate to send us tuto if necessary within the differents steps.

This is an important detail as RANDOM behaviour usually implicates a server or caching issue is involved. You did not mention how/if these RANDOM cases are resolved.

For example, last night I visited the products and I was able to view them...does this mean the situation resolved itself? or did you re-generate the permalinks before I had a chance to view the error?

In order to advance, it is really important to be able to provoke/cause the bad behaviour on demand. Only then can we see what might be wrong. If I look at the system when there is no error, the troubleshooting effort is fruitless.

Off the top of my head, the only situation I know of that has caused similar randomn behaviour has been the use of "Strip category base" option with Yoast. Do you use this?

Have you a way to provoke the error you are describing?

Hello Yvette,

About random we list 2 problems:

- Each time we deactivate WPML, some French event come into the English event's list. But because we have only 2 events I cannot say really if it is random or not but only one of them came last time.

- The second is the missing content blocks in the translator. I recently wanted to update a translation, went into the translator and some content blocks were missing. Dominique double checked and he had the same result. But some 30' later, without changing anything we did the same and could find them!

- For the duplicated blocks you can check the page "about us" where we are 3 blocks that appear 2 times (one in French one in English in each case".
They start by
- Brigitte Prudhon....
- Dominique Pierre-Justin...
- Essence of health is more...

- One new problem we have today is on the khmer translation of the portfolio "Tuina". I opened the translation clicking on the pen to translate it from English to Khmer. I completed all the fields and saved. But when I went to edit my Khmer page, it is completely empty! (see screenshots)

Regarding the products, we just checked and we can see them as well. We did nothing but maybe one of your colleagues did after our request. (We did not check from this time)

To answer your question about "Strip category base" , we don't know what it is and where to find this option so we probably don't use. If you tell us where to find this option we can check it.

My responses.

1. Random problems
1.1 Events

Do you mean your deactivate/reactivate since all language info would disappear when WPML is deactivated and all posts (including events) would appear as if they were in the same system default language. So, what you describe would be the expected result of deactivating WPML indeed and not a bug of any kind.

However, if you mean that you deactivate the WPML plugin and then reactivating it causes FR events to be re-assigned EN language tags...then this is a curious issue and not expected.

So, could you please clarify?

1.2 Missing Content Blocks and duplicated content blocks
I wrote in another thread that if you are mixing tranlsation methdos (e.g. using the Translation Edito --AND-- using manual translation of the page ) then you can introduce these kind of results.

The reason is that the Translation Editor is updating strings in the String Translation table that is not synchronised with the post-content field of the database until you have marked the existing tranlsation job as complete.

So, if you are editing the page in question manually BEFORE having marked the Translation Editor view of the page as complete (e.g. the translation job is seen as "in progress") then updates you make to the page will be invisible and not seen to the TE and can also be overwritten at the moment you decide to mark the open translation job as complete.

The result is a mess, frankly. And the only way I have found to re-synchronise the two views is to use the Duplicate Post plugin to clone the original page and its translations. Somehow, this clears all inconsistencies and provides a fresh clean start based on what is currently seen in the database post-content field.

So, my question is if you are mixing translations in this manner or not?

1.3 New problem with Khmer
Let´s clarify point 1.2 before attempting to start analizing this. To prepare, please install and activate the ARI Adminer plugin which I can then use to inspect your database contents for this post/page.

Please also provide temporary wp-admin access in the private area I am opening for you. I will require administrator priveleges but I do not plan to make any configuration changes. I only want to look/inspect at this stage.

1.1. Sorry I forgot to precise that they stay in the English list of events after we reactivate WPML. So we delete it manually.

1.2. Yes I remember you talked about the procedure of duplicating the page. I will do it tomorrow and give you feed-back. For sure we mixed different ways of translating and put the mess!
But can you please make it clear what you call translation editor. Is it the one we find in the dashboard in WPML/ translations with the JOB ID and the translation status?
And how we should ideally translate?
I dont understand how we can access all the pages and posts. As some jobs are assigned to Dominique and some to me. How can we touch this?

we don't know about ARI Adminer. Anyway Dominique gave you full access to the website. User Avadasupport. We have many back-ups in case.

1. Translation Process quesitons

I´ll address your questions as you wrote them:

1.1. "..can you please make it clear what you call translation editor. "

The Translation Editor is the view of your post/page content where you have the original content on the left and the translated content on the right (see image).

There are 2 versions of this editor: "Classic" and "Advanced"
The advanced editor incorporates machine translation but both are side-by-side views of your page content and ongoing translation work.

1.2. "Is it the one we find in the dashboard in WPML/ translations with the JOB ID and the translation status?"

No, this is the Tranlsation Management dashboard. It is not the Translation Editor. The job-ids are the open translation work that is using Translation Editor to create or update new posts/pages.

1.3. "And how we should ideally translate?"
The Translation Editor will parse your data content presenting what it finds on the left and a box for your to put the translated content on the right.

This works well with pagebuilder shortodes since it focuses on the text without all the attributes that might be present with popular builders.
The downside is that not all pagebuilder elements are visible to the Translation Editor. If the Translation Editor cannot "recognise" or "see" it, you will not have the content offered to you for translation.

In this case, sometimes the only way to translate the content is to revert to using the native wordpress editor (e.g. NO Transation Editor).

But, as I explained earlier, you shoudl only do this when you complete any translation jobs that are "in progress", You can tell if there is a job "in progress" if you open the normal editor view of the original language post. Then look in the sidebar in the section "Languages". Here, beside each target language, you will see either: a pencil icon, a circular arrow, or a circle of lines.

A pencil icon: good - you can go ahead and open the translated page with the native editor
A circular arrow - this is ok as well as it is just a notification that an update is required of the translated post
A circle of lines - DO NOT EDIT with the native editor. This is the "in progress" icon and it indicates that the Tranlsation Editor is working on the post/page.

If you see a circle of lines, then you shoudl open the translation job and mark it as complete by ticking all translation boxes on the right side of the screen and selecting "Save and close".

If you are using the Translaton Managmenet system, indeed, a translation job is assigned to a translator and it is normally "protected". I believe the best practice is for the translator assigned to complete the job in whatever state it is in so that it i can be taken over by another translator.

2. Events
So I understand the problem to be that when you deactivate WPML, the events lose their language assignment so that when WPML is reactivated, the events are appearing mixed.

Is this a correct restatement of the issue?

If so, then can you create a simple example that I can work with?

Hello Yvette,

A new surprising thing. I duplicated the "about us" page to solve the duplicated blocks problems as you requested. I then replaced the old one and proceeded to translation to French.
But when I come back to the pages list, about us appear with the + instead of the pen although the translation is complete. See screenshots attached.

I report the problems as soon as I see them. So sure I don't forget 🙂

No worries - I have installed the extension "Check All" on my google browser which is useful when there are a lot of boxes to check.

I don´t know which browser you use, but there might be a tool that is does this same kind of function available for it.

Note: with "Check all" , I have to first select the extension "Check all", then untick one box, the tick again for all the boxes to appear ticked.

Needless to say, this saves me LOADS of time and headache.

Could you see the message I sent this morning talking about various things and asking you questions about translation... I cannot see it...
